The progressive, step-by-step sessions provide a structure within which to learn new skills. Below are just some of the paintings SAMS-artists have worked with. They represent the various stages of the sessions.
Stage 1
This is a simple composition, which helps SAMS-artists begin to learn how to draw and paint shapes.
Stage 2
This is another quite simple composition, which helps SAMS-artists begin to learn how to draw and paint shapes. The house provides a focal point and an opportunity for an individual to show their own style.
Stage 3
In this painting, the SAMS-artist learns more techniques; wet-in-wet and dry brush work. Within this painting they can also use it to find the confidence to paint their own objects, such as the tree and rocks.
Stage 4
The SAMS-artist can find their own colour palette within this painting. The sky can provide a good opportunity to learn what the paint and the colours can achieve.
